SEFFNER, Fla. — A 45-year-old Plant City man died in an early Thursday morning crash on Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash between a two-door car and a semi-truck happened around 3 a.m. on I-4 eastbound near County 579 in the Seffner area.
Authorities have not released the identity of the man who died. The semi-truck driver was not injured, according to the FHP.
The semi-truck overheated, so FHP said the driver pulled to the shoulder to repair it. After the driver finished the repairs, the truck pulled on to I-4 again. The FHP said a two-door car then rear-ended the semi-truck.
Traffic on I-4 eastbound had traffic delays for several hours on Thursday morning.
