TAMPA, Fla. — A deadly crash involving a bicyclist shut down a portion of East Fowler Avenue on Tuesday morning, according to the Tampa Police Department.
Around 7:45 a.m., police said the 1500 block of E Fowler Avenue was shut down for investigation into a "fatal vehicle vs bicyclist crash." Officers did not say what caused the crash or how many injuries were reported.
Aerial video from Sky 10 shows a bicycle mangled in the bike lane with items scattered onto the road.
All westbound Fowler Avenue traffic is being diverted onto 17th Street. The road closure is expected to last several hours.
