TAMPA, Fla. — Two men were killed Sunday morning after their car crashed into a wall near an apartment complex on North 50th Street near East Busch Boulevard.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. and shut down North 50th Street in both directions for several hours before it reopened to traffic.
In a news release, the Tampa Police Department said the crash happened while the two men were heading south before veering from the right side of the street "for unknown reasons."
Officers said the car hit several objects before crashing into the wall. Both men weren't wearing seatbelts and the department added that speed may have been a factor.
The investigation is ongoing, according to Tampa police.
