TAMPA, Fla. — Update: A chain-reaction, rollover crash caused troopers to shut down all northbound lanes of I-75 for more than three hours Tuesday morning. According to the accident report, a driver lost control of a Ford Escape around 11 a.m.
Troopers say the compact SUV was heading south, but it went into the median near Bruce B. Downs Blvd and rolled over multiple times before smashing into three other cars in the northbound lanes.
Those cars were stopped because of a deadly crash that happened earlier on that side of the highway.
The report states the impact sent one of those cars backwards into another car. Investigators do not know why the first driver lost control.
Incredibly, there were only minor injuries reported.
