ST LEO, Florida — Drivers in Pasco County can now make their way through a new roundabout on County Road 52.
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) officials said the new roundabout is located at the intersection of College Avenue and Pompanic Street, located in the city of St. Leo.
"This is great news for drivers who have detoured around the closed intersection since early June," FDOT wrote in a press release.
The new road junction is part of a $10.2 million project along CR-52 to resurface the corridor from west of Storch Lane to U.S. Highway 98 and U.S. 301. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2025, FDOT said.
The agency is asking drivers to approach the roundabout with caution by entering to the right and continuing counterclockwise through the roundabout.
FDOT is also reminding anyone entering to yield to traffic already in the roundabout but to not stop if it is clear to enter.
The speed limit in the new roundabout on CR-52 is 25 mph.
