LARGO, Fla. — If you’re in Largo using reclaimed water, the city needs you to stop.
The City of Largo said Environmental Services Department told city leaders the reclaimed water was not meeting the disinfection criteria put in place to protect people and the environment.
The city said people’s drinking water, and the water going into homes was not affected.
The water reclaimed water system was shut down at 4 p.m. Thursday and will stay off until the issue is figured out.
The city is asking people who use reclaimed water to turn it off in the meantime.
