Your guide to the 2024 Skyway 10K

The 7th annual Skyway 10K will take place on Sunday, March 3.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Lace up your sneakers — the Skyway 10K is just around the corner.

The Skyway 10K is 6.2 miles long and spans the Sunshine Skyway Bridge for a race experience unlike any other. The 7th annual race will take place on Sunday, March 3.

10 Tampa Bay is a proud sponsor of this event, and we'll be there to cheer you on and provide live coverage of the race.

But before you take your place at the starting line, here's everything you need to know about the 2024 Skyway 10K:

When and where is the Skyway 10k?

The Skyway 10K will take place on the morning of Sunday, March 3, 2024, on the span of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge between Pinellas and Manatee counties.

If you’ve participated in the Skyway 10K before, there are changes this year that you need to know about. Due to the Cirque du Soleil, all the race activities on Saturday and Sunday will be at Lot 1 on the west side of Tropicana Field. Come early, because parking will be limited.

Quite a few members of the 10 Tampa Bay team will be running alongside you on Sunday morning, so say “Hi!” if you see them.

Who does the Skyway 10K benefit?

100% of the proceeds from the Skyway 10K benefit the Armed Forces Family Foundation, which supports the families of our military service men and women. The foundation works to give military families "a sense of community support and well-being while their loved ones are away fighting for our freedom."

To date, the race has raised more than $2.8 million for the AFFF.

Where do I pick up my packet for the Skyway 10K?

The Race Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, the day before the race in Lot 1 of Tropicana Field.

The Race Expo is where racers must pick up their bibs and packets, but it's also a celebration for the whole family. It will feature live music, vendors, food and drinks all in support of military families.

Race materials cannot be picked up on the day of the race. Only participants who opted for mailed packets will receive their bib in the mail and can pick up the rest of their swag on Sunday.

Remember to stop by the 10 Tampa Bay tent to meet our team, do the news and spin the wheel for 10 Tampa Bay swag! There will also be many other vendors there supporting this wonderful event, so don’t forget your wallet.

The Race Expo area is open to the general public, so even if you or a friend aren’t participating in the race, you can still come and enjoy free music while you shop for great deals on running gear.

Where do I park for the Skyway 10k?

"Tropicana Field is providing parking for Skyway 10K Race Weekend completely free of cost!" the Skyway 10K website reads.

"Parking is available for race participants, spectators, and Expo visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of limited parking and traffic, carpooling or ride-sharing to Tropicana Field is recommended."

If you can't park at the Trop, you may need to park on surrounding streets, and there may be potential costs.

When will the bridge close for the Skyway 10K?

The northbound span of the bridge will close at 3:30 a.m. and will reopen at 11 a.m. The southbound lanes will remain open throughout the race.

What time should I arrive for the Skyway 10K?

All racers are asked to arrive at least one hour before their scheduled bus departure time. You can find your departure time here

"Participants must be on time for their designated race departure. Late participants may not ride a later bus due to strict safety guidelines," the Skyway 10K website reads.
