PARIS, France — Three-time Paralympian and four-time Paralympic gold medalist Roderick Townsend is celebrating with his Olympian wife, Tynita Butts-Townsend after his latest gold medal win.
Roderick, 32, won his third consecutive gold medal in the men's high jump T47 at the Paris Paralympics on Sunday -- with a 2.12-meter jump (nearly 7 feet). He also won gold in the same event at the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo and the 2016 Paralympics
After the high jump results, Roderick shared a celebratory kiss with his wife, Tynita, as she held their toddler son, Rodney, in her arms.
Tynita, who competed in the women's high jump at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, expressed her pride in Roderick's win on social media.
"This is all I ever wanted for you," she wrote in an Instagram post, along with posting a photo of Roderick and their son on the track and field.
Roderick and Tynita tied the knot in July 2018 before they competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, respectively.
Then, in November 2023, the couple welcomed their son, Rodney Ariel Townsend.
"My whole world in one photo. Couldn’t be more grateful for all that you’ve done for me as a wife and a friend. Now onto our most exciting journey yet, raising baby boy!" Roderick wrote in a joint post on Instagram.
