Do you want to be part of the Tampa Bay Lightning's Bolts Blue Crew? Here's how

Auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 inside Amalie Arena.

TAMPA, Fla. — Are you a Tampa Bay Lightning fan looking to become a bigger part of Bolts Nation? Well, this is your chance.

The team has announced it is hosting tryouts to be a part of the Bolts Blue Crew, the Lightning's ambassador team.

Auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 inside Amalie Arena.

The team is looking to bring in a wide range of candidates, including actors, performers, hosts, emcees, athletes, dancers, cheer squad members and in-field marketers.

Lightning officials say those looking to tryout should be able to have exceptional customer service skills, engage with fans in fun ways, perform in-game entertainment and take part in promotional activities and community events.

Here are the qualifications you need to apply:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possess the ability to perform confidently and spontaneously in front of large audiences 
  • Communicate effectively in live settings and exhibit a friendly, outgoing personality capable of connecting with fans of all ages 

While it is not mandatory, the organization says it is preferred if you have any experience cheerleading, performing, promoting or knowledge of hockey and ice skating.

"The Bolts Blue Crew plays a pivotal role in energizing fans during Lightning home games at AMALIE Arena and at various team events throughout the Bay Area," team officials said in a press release. " This team consists of spirited, enthusiastic and outgoing individuals who leverage their unique talents and personalities to create unforgettable fan experiences while serving as an extension of the Tampa Bay Lightning brand."
