Tampa Bay Lightning re-sign Gabriel Fortier for 2024-25 season

Fortier has competed in 11 career games with the Bolts.

TAMPA, Fla. — Bolts nation will see a familiar face on the ice next season after the Tampa Bay Lightning announced the re-signing of forward Gabriel Fortier on Monday.

Vice President and General Manager Julien BriseBois said Fortier signed to a one-year, two-way contract for what will be his sixth season with the Tampa Bay hockey team.

In 2018, he was a second-round selection for the Lightning in the NHL Entry Draft. In 2021, he would make his NHL debut with the team against the St. Louis Blues.

Fortier has competed in 11 career games with the Lightning, scoring one point in December 2021 against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Additionally, Fortier has played in the American Hockey League with the Syracuse Crunch. Since the 2018-19 season, he played 235 games for the AHL team, posting 44 goals and 100 points. That includes 62 regular games, posting 13 goals and 26 points, in the 2023-24 season.

He would also play in each of the club's eight Calder Cup Playoff games, collecting four assists and five points, tying for the second most of all Syracuse skaters.
