Fans brave storms to watch Lightning lose Game 6

Storms might usually bring a good omen for the Tampa bay Lightning, but this night it's accompanied by a deluge.
Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers fans brave stormy conditions Tuesday night to watch Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final in Thunder Alley.

Tampa, Florida -- A massive lightning bolt illuminates the skyline. It's followed by a booming thunderclap. That's usually a good omen for the Tampa bay Lightning, but this night it's accompanied by a deluge.

And if the rain didn't put the brakes on the party, the Ranger's first goal within minutes of the start of the game did.

Hundreds of people fled, the diehards sat in the pouring rain, wrapped in plastic or under the cover of umbrellas and watched as the Rangers picked apart the Bolts defense and went up by two goals.

The statue of Phil Esposito remained illuminated and seemed to give Bolts nation a glimmer of hope to come back.

Minutes later, the Bolts scored, the first period ended. But the second period was fruitless for both teams, and the Bolts faithful continued to be dumped on by Mother Nature.

In the third period, the Rangers continue to pound away, scoring again and again and again. When it's all said and done, the Bolts dropped Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final and are headed back to New York. The winner of that game plays for the cup.
