BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A person familiar with talks tells The Associated Press that free-agent quarterback Josh McCown has had contract discussions with the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity Thursday because the teams haven't confirmed the discussions. A second person, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said earlier that McCown was negotiating with Buffalo.
McCown spent the previous two days meeting with the Browns. In mid-February, the 35-year-old also spent two days visiting with the Bills. He has also visited Chicago and the New York Jets.
McCown was released by Tampa Bay this month and would be a candidate to compete for a starting job in both Buffalo and Cleveland.
The 12-year NFL veteran has 17-32 career record with six teams.
