'Howard Stern' regular crashed Goodell's press conference

Benjy Bronk is removed by security after disrupting a news conference by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell , Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, in New York.

(USA TODAY) Right in the middle of Roger Goodell's much anticipated press conference address domestic violence and the NFL's personal conduct policy, commotion ensued.

A man, who announced "I'm Benjy," attempted to breach security from a side entrance, shouted loudly then, when he was accosted by security, repeatedly screamed "don't take me to the elevator!" as he was dragged out of the room.

The interloper was Benjy Bronk, a regular on the Howard Stern Show who has pulled similar stunts at press conferences in the past.

His interruption, which would have confused and unsettled anyone not familiar with the Stern show, continues a long tradition of Stern regulars wreaking havoc on live television. One of the most famous cases came in 1994, when Peter Jennings interviewed a man during the O.J. Simpson chase, who casually ended his "exclusive" update on what was going on inside O.J.'s care by saying "Baba Booey," a popular Stern catchphrase. Al Michaels later came on the air to clarify that the man was not telling the truth.

Benjy resurfaced outside the press conference, appearing unscathed.
