2024 NFL Draft: Round 1 recap
The 2024 NFL Draft is here. The Chicago Bears picked Caleb Williams first overall, followed by Jayden Daniels going to Washington and Drake Maye to New England.
The 2024 NFL Draft is underway, with quarterbacks taking center stage but lots of unknowns for teams looking for the next generation of football talent.
The Chicago Bears took USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick thanks to the Carolina Panthers trading up to No. 1 last year. But the Panthers struggled mightily this past season, ending up with the worst record and handing the top spot in 2024 to Chicago.
Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean and Iowa State defensive back T.J. Tampa highlight the in-state prospects.
In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers took Iowa edge rusher Lukas Van Ness No. 13 overall, the New York Jets took Iowa State edge rusher Will McDonald IV at No. 15 and the Detroit Lions grabbed Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell with the 18th pick.
The draft will be televised on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network.
