TAMPA, Fla. - The Yankees hope to get home runs on the field and in the concession stands this spring.
The team previewed their food options for fans at Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday, two days before their first spring training game against the Detroit Tigers.
One new feature this year is a 750 pound smoker, which is being used to create smoked meatloaf sandwiches, brisket mac and cheese and smoked chicken wings.
Over at the third base club, fans can expect a signature local-blend burger, crispy chicken sandwiches and shrimp po'boys.
At the third base concessions stand, there's philly cheesesteak waffle fries, southwest waffle fries and buffalo ranch waffle fries.
And of course, over at the third base concourse portable stand, there's "dingers" sliders.
"We offer fun, approachable food here," said James D'Heron, Yankee Stadium's executive chief. "I think it really elevates the concession stand concept where most fans are used to your burger, fries, chicken fingers."
