Tampa, FL-- The Jefferson High Dragons learned Monday they will lose their starting quarterback for the rest of the season. An MRI revealed that junior QB Cade Weldon tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee, in Friday's opening game of the season.
"It's something he'll have to deal with, and something that was unexpected," Jefferson HS Head Coach Jeremy Earle told 10 Sports. "But if it's anybody who can overcome this adversity, it's this football team and especially Cade Weldon."
The Dragons will turn to sophomore QB Matthew Gaffney, who started for the junior varsity team last season.
