Brandon, FL-- Florida's first Topgolf franchise opened Thursday night, with thousands of invited guests at the grand opening party.
Topgolf hired more than 400 employees to staff the newest entertainment center in the state. It features high-tech, point-scoring golf games, along with restaurants and full-service bars with dozens of high-definition televisions.
The Topgolf Tampa location is the 14th in the world, the 11th here in the United. States.
"To be here and actually see the driving range, it's amazing," 4-time World Series champ Tino Martinez told 10 Sports. "The food amazing, the drinks are amazing. It's an awesome place."
"I can tell you this, I've never hit golf balls off a deck," said Pro Football Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks. "And my shots are pretty good, so maybe I need to change my golf game and play a little higher."
"Real cool concept," commented former Lightning star Brian Bradley. "It feels like you're in Japan or Europe. It's just a really neat experience with 3 levels, and it's a packed house tonight for the grand opening."
