Florida State's Anna Shelnutt had a bug crawl on her neck after the Seminoles won the national championship.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A Florida State University softball player had an unexpected visitor during Tuesday night's postgame news conference of the Women's College World Series.

Anna Shellnutt was answering a question when a bug started crawling up her neck.

"Get it, smack it. Somebody get it!" Shellnut yelled.

The room erupted in laughter afterward.

"Oh, my God is that not perfect?," an FSU player said. "That's our season."

The Seminoles beat the Washington Huskies 8-3 on Tuesday night to win the women's College World Series championship game.

It marked the Seminoles' first national championship in program history.

FSU's victory also marked the first time a team came back from an opening-game loss to win the Series.

On Friday, Tallahassee will get an opportunity to celebrate the Seminoles as their national title is honored with the lighting of the Unconquered Statue.
