ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — This Saturday will prove to be an interesting start to the new season for the Florida State Seminoles football team as they will take a trip across the pond to take on Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
The matchup between the two teams marks the sixth time in 12 years that American college football will be returning to Ireland, according to the event's official website.
While it will be Florida State's first time in the Emerald Isle, Georgia Tech will be returning for the first time since defeating Boston College 17-14 in September 2016. Officials say an estimated 20,000 fans are expected to travel from the United States and Europe to Aviva Stadium to cheer on their favorite team.
The game will air at 5 p.m. Irish Standard Time, noon Eastern Time on ESPN. The game will also be available to stream on Fubo.
As this year's college football season gets underway, some Sunshine State fans may be wondering when their favorite team will be taking the field.
