TAMPA, Fla. — One person in Hillsborough County went from driver to diver when they accidentally drove into a pool.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the driver ended up in the pool after they tried to avoid hitting a car.
Deputies said the driver hit the gas instead of the brakes.
"I'm looking out the window and there's a car in my pool," Blas Simon, the homeowner, said.
Simon said the driver climbed out of the car through the sunroof, and he wasn't hurt.
"We looked at each other like, neither one of us wants to be here," Simon explained. "He was telling me that his other vehicle is broken and this is the only one he has running right now, and I'm like, 'I was hoping to swim in this pool tomorrow.'"
Ironically, the crash happened at the corner of Blind Pond Avenue and Blessed Place.
