World-famous sign flipper hits the streets of Jacksonville

When Julian Falkenstein, 26, started flipping signs he had no idea a career would come from it.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A YouTube sensation has brought his world-famous talent for flipping advertisement signs to the sidewalks of Jacksonville.

When Julian Falkenstein, 26, started flipping signs he had no idea a career would come from it.

But let's be honest, he does far more than just flip signs.

He dances. Spins. And plays to the crowd of traffic passing by.

It's a craft he learned seven years ago.

First Coast News spotted him along Riverside where the sidewalk is his stage and the passing drivers are his audience – honks and cheers keep him moving.

Falkenstein says it was his dad's idea.

"My dad is actually the one who told me to start doing this and I said no one's going to pay me to hold a sign! And here I am," he said.

Falkenstein's video on YouTube hit 7 million views making him the self-proclaimed "World's Best Sign Flipper." It also gained him an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, which is when he says his career really took off.

Falkenstein is from Atlanta but he now travels the world flipping signs. He's flipped signs all the way from Texas to Japan.

And it's not a bad pay check either – Falkenstein says he makes anywhere from $30 - $35 an hour.
