Meet the climbing perch -- the invasive fish that may be threatening the Australian ecosystem.

The "walking" fish is continuing to make its way to Australia from Paupa New Guinea, possibly posing a threat to local birds and marine life.

According to The Telegraph, the climbing perch can survive for up to six days without water and can destroy predators by swelling up after being swallowed, choking their adversaries.

The climbing perch also overpowers native species and can hibernate in the mud of dry creek beds for up to six months.
