BUFFALO, N.Y. -- An email mix up lead to 5,000 students being mistakenly accepted to the University at Buffalo, and now the college is apologizing, according to WGRZ.
A spokesman for the school says the email went out on Wednesday to students whose applications had not yet been fully reviewed. About three hours later, UB realized the mistake and sent another email apologizing for the mix up.
In a statement on the university's website, they said an incorrect email list was generated from their applicant database. They also emphasized that student who received the email are still being considered for admission.
