TAMPA, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 75 at I-4.
A 28-year-old man became "agitated" inside of an Uber and got out of the car around 1:44 a.m. Monday on southbound I-75 at the I-4 exit, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report.
The report said the man stepped into the next lane of I-75 traffic before a Nissan Versa and a Nissan SUV hit him.
First responders took the man to Tampa General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The FHP has not charged anyone in the crash.
The southbound I-4 ramp has also since reopened.
The FHP said two other men put the man into an Uber from a Brooksville restaurant, where he had been drinking. The Uber was ordered to drop the man off at his home in Brandon.
