Crash in Bradenton kills adult; driver charged with vehicular homicide

According to officials, the crash at 75th St. and 9th Ave. is causing some delays and detours in the area. At least two cars were reportedly involved in the crash.

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A serious crash in Bradenton has killed a 43-year-old man and injured a 3-year-old child Thursday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Brandon Mulrain-Williams, 30, of Bradenton was northbound on 75th Street NW near 9th Avenue NW in a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt.

Mulrain-Williams was driving recklessly when he tried to pass a 2015 Audi A4 driven by 18-year-old Alexis Jeanae Booker of Sarasota, FHP said.

The Chevrolet hit the back of the Audi, then overturned, hitting the top of a 2007 Toyota Sonlara driven by Petro Chyshkevych of Bradenton.

The Audi went off the road, hitting a tree on the west shoulder. Chyshkevych was killed. His passenger, 3-year-old Ivanka Chyshkevych, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with minor injuries.

Booker received minor injuries but did not go to the hospital.

The Chevrolet slid on its roof, coming to stop north of the intersection.Mulrain-Williams was taken to Blake Medical Center with minor injuries. He has been charged with vehicular homicide.
