Two concessions opened at Tampa International Airport on Thursday: the Gasparilla Bar and Tampa Bay Times newsstand.
Gasparilla Bar, named after legendary pirate José Gaspar, is designed like the famed pirate ship using 1,000 feet of reclaimed oak, and serves food and specialty cocktails. It is near Airside F, at gates 78 and 79.
The Tampa Bay Times newsstand, at Airside E near gates 62-68, will be the first new grab-and-go news convenience store to open on the airside. Food at the newsstand is from the Tampa landmark Alessi Bakeries.
The new concessions are among 30 expected to open this year at the airport.
