The Internet is losing it over this sad grandpa

Amid the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to forget to call your grandparents. Or — as was the case for the Harmon grandkids — to show up for family dinner.

Amid the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to forget to call your grandparents. Or — as was the case for the Harmon grandkids — to show up for family dinner.

But the Internet seemed to quickly forget this after Kelsey Harmon posted a single photo of her disappointed grandfather.

"Dinner with papaw tonight…he made 12 burgers for all 6 grandkids and I'm the only one who showed," the Oklahoma college student shared after five of her cousins failed to appear for dinner Wednesday. "Love him," she added alongside a weeping emoji.

Twitter, apparently, shared Kelsey's sentiment, with users retweeting the message more than 130,000 times and liking it more than 220,000 times. A handful of users also took it upon themselves to track down Kelsey's cousins and chastise them for missing dinner. One of the cousins, Brock Harmon, was so… moved by the comments that he came to claim his portion of the leftovers the very next day.

"Guys don’t worry!" he tweeted Thursday. "I came to Papaw’s house and am having a burger."

Kelsey also called off the mob, later assuring users that "Papaw" was "perfectly fine" and was "thankful for all the kind words."

It inspired quite a few Internet responses:
