Ybor City, Florida -- If you have spent any time in Ybor city you can appreciate the uniqueness it brings to Tampa.
The area is on the verge of becoming an exploding attraction and newly opened The Brass Tap wants to be a part of the growth.
Dwayne Waltrip is the owner of the new pub and he's expressed his excitement about starting his establishment in Ybor.
"We see the presence and security and the effort of all of the different merchants," said Waltrip.
The foot print includes $200,000 of private sector investments that leveraged $60,000 of funds that were used to revive 2 area businesses in 2014.
This year, it gets even better.
According to the City of Tampa, Ybor city is set to get $138,000 dollars in grant money, also part of the Facade improvement plan. With those funds Ybor city is anticipating $382,000 dollars of private sector investments to spread over 5 properties.
Another reason The Brass Tap wants to become a part of Ybor's growing community.
The Brass Tap opened on Monday, January and is prepared to take on the weekend crowds.
The franchise offers a variety of wines, craft beers and cigars.
