Tampa, Florida -- A freak accident has a Tampa woman fighting for her life.
Schuyler Arakawa is a graduate of Tampa's Berkeley Preparatory School and Yale University. Alexis Tsavoussis, her best friend says Arakawa is in Peru as part of a fellowship but while visiting Colombia for a weekend away. She says Schuyler was involved in a horrible accident that no one could have predicted.
Tsavoussis says, "A boulder like somehow dislodged like 30 feet above and fell and hit Schuyler while she was swimming in the water. She has a fractured skull, 5 fractured vertebra, both of her femurs are fractured and a punctured lung." Tsavoussis says they'd like to have her flown back to the U.S. to Miami for treatment.
