Seminole combat Sgt. retires

Seminole - He served his country honorably and now an Osceola High graduate and one time Seminole resident retires from the U.S. Marine Corp.

Friends and family will hold a retirement celebration for Marine Sgt. William Bodette. Sgt. Bodette served 24 years in the Marine Corps.

Throughout Bodette's career he became widely decorated earning A Bronze Star with Combat V, Navy and Marine Corps Commendations, a Purple Heart, Navy and Marine Achievement medal with 2 gold stars, and the Combat Action Ribbon with 3 gold stars.

Bodette was also featured on the History Channel as he described combat in Afghanistan and Iraq.

His retirement party will be held at the Double Wide Saloon on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg on Saturday, June 11 from 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
