SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies arrested a 37-year-old Sarasota mother who had prescription drugs, Amphetamine, crack cocaine and marijuana in her vehicle while she was passed out in the driver's seat.
Also in the back seat were Veronica A. Posey's two children.
Sarasota County Sheriff's Office deputies were alerted to an unconscious woman who was in the driver's seat at 3101 Ashton Road in Sarasota around 7:29 p.m. Friday.
Posey woke up from her stupor as paramedics arrived at the scene. Deputies found that she was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, Tramadol, Alprazolam, Hydromorphone, Amphetamine and crack cocaine in her car.
Deputies seized her two children, who were reportedly uninjured, and released them to Department of Children and Family Services.
She has been charged with DUI, marijuana possession under 20 grams, possession of drugs without a prescription, possession of controlled substance and two counts of child neglect.
The latest arrest for Posey is part of 11 prior arrests in Sarasota County. She was last arrested on June 20 for possession of crack cocaine.
Posey was placed under arrest and booked at the Sarasota County Jail with a $65,000 bond.
