CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Bodycam footage released by Cape Coral police shows the harrowing moments two officers saved a man's life.
At 5:47 p.m. on Oct. 30, officers were dispatched to a call for a man trapped under his car, the department wrote in an Instagram post.
Police said the man was working on his car when his car jack failed, causing the car to fall and trap him underneath.
Video shows the man's legs sticking out from underneath the right side of a red sedan by the front tire.
"Somebody pull him out," an officer shouted as he prepared to lift the car.
Together, Officer Bridges and Officer Klakowicz lifted the car off the man while another man helped pull him out from underneath the vehicle.
"He has [a] pulse!" the man said.
The man rescued from underneath the car was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. He is now back home.
"Through the officers’ quick response times and high levels of physical fitness, they saved a man’s life," the police department wrote.
