MIAMI — The Ultra Music Festival kicks off on Friday at 4 p.m. at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.
The popular event draws thousands of people to South Florida every year to see more than 150 EDM performers worldwide.
Here’s everything you need to know:
When is it?
The three-day festival will run until Sunday. Here are the times:
- Friday: 4 p.m. to midnight
- Saturday: 1 p.m. to midnight
- Sunday: 1-10 p.m.
Who is performing?
Some popular artists include David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Afrojack who will span across seven stages. Calvin Harris will also return to the event after his 10-year hiatus from the festival.

How to buy tickets:
The music festival is sold out, according to the website, but you can live stream it starting at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. There will also be a live stream at 4 p.m. Saturday at 4 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Safety measures:
To enter the festival, you must be 18 or older and 21 or older to purchase alcohol. Additionally, VIP ticket holders need to be 21 or older. Concert-goers will need an acceptable form of ID to enter.
There is a limit on the size and type of concert-goers can bring in. The guidelines include:
- One-gallon clear zip-top bag
- Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand either with or without a handle or strap is allowed
- Hydration packs, which are NOT backpacks, will be allowed
- “Fanny-pack(s)” or similar waist-packs will be allowed
- Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for medically required items after proper inspection

The festival’s website says they maintain a “zero-tolerance policy prohibiting illicit drug use and possession.” There will be undercover police working at the event to enforce the narcotics laws.
What is Miami Music Week?
Miami Music Week has events Tuesday through Sunday revolving around electronic music. This is the 10th annual marathon and the grand finale is Ultra Music Festival.
Some events include performances at popular clubs in Miami such as Club Space and LIV Nightclub. The tickets at clubs can be pricey but there are some free events such as the performance by Slave to the Rhythm at Pier 5 on Saturday.
