PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Coworkers are mourning the death of a pregnant Chick-fil-A manager from Georgia after she was killed in a crash involving a prison transport van, the Panama City News Herald reported.
Kristen Clark, 33, and her unborn baby were killed after her Honda hit the back of a prisoner transport van early Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 231 and Highway 390, the Panama City Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Panama City Deputy Police Chief John Moore told USA Today that Clark’s Honda sedan “failed to yield” and collided with the back of the van.
Seven people, including three prison transports, were taken to local hospitals and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Clark, including her baby, Asher Blaze, later died, according to WALB 10 News.
Both north and southbound lanes of Hwy 231 were shut down for several hours during the investigation.
Clark reportedly worked as a manager for four years at Chick-fil-A in Bainbridge, Georgia. Those who worked with her described her as a “remarkable leader, a loyal and fierce friend."
They were also planning a baby shower for her on Sunday, Bainbridge Chick-fil-A Marketing Director Krystal Apke told WALB.
She had been pregnant with Blaze for 7 months, the outlet reported.
