Coast Guard: Missing fisherman's paddle board found miles offshore between Miami, Fort Lauderdale

The Coast Guard is looking for a missing paddleboarder named Luciano near Key Biscayne, Florida.

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. — The search continues for a fisherman last seen Monday on Pines Canal in Key Biscayne, Florida. Now, two days into that search, his paddleboard has been found, according to authorities.

A good Samaritan found the fisherman's paddleboard and dry bag 8-11 miles between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast said on X.

The missing 29-year-old, identified as "Luciano," was reportedly last seen spearfishing on the paddleboard around 5:15 p.m. Monday before he vanished. He is described as 6'2'', around 200 pounds with short cut dark brown hair, according to the Coast Guard.

Luciano was also last seen wearing a light-gray, long-sleeved "Reef Cheefs" rash guard with gray sports shorts, the Coast Guard said.

To spread the word on Luciano's disappearance, authorities say they're seeking help from people in the waterways off the coast of Miami, South Miami, the Florida Keys, Bimini and the Bahamas.
