NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — A man who was caught feasting on junk food in a closed Florida Walgreens is facing multiple charges, reports say.

An article from WESH-TV explains that New Smyrna Beach police responded to the Walgreens, located on State Road 44, after an alarm in the business went off around 3 a.m. Monday.

An alarm company reportedly told police a man was inside the store, despite the business being closed since 10 p.m.

The outlet says police found video footage of the man, later identified as Christopher Morgan, entering the Walgreens' bathroom around 9:40 p.m. and leaving it around 2:42 a.m. He told police he came into the store to use the bathroom, the article says.

A report from Miami Herald explains that he was found eating items such as Tostitos spinach dip, chips, Reese’s chocolate, Ghirardelli chocolate bars, Dr. Pepper and Newport cigarettes.

The newspaper says video shows Morgan's pockets were stuffed with candy bars while authorities searched outside the store.

WESH-TV says Morgan was placed under arrest once he was outside. He reportedly resisted attempts to place him in the back of a patrol car and even spit on an officer when he was inside of it.

Morgan is reportedly facing charges for burglary of unoccupied structure, larceny/petit theft, resisting an officer without violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. He also has two prior convictions of larceny/petit theft, WESH-TV explains.
