MARATHON, Fla. — A man and a 9-year-old boy died from their injuries after the personal watercraft they were riding crashed into a seawall in the Florida Keys, authorities said.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
Officials said the boy and a 47-year-old man, both from Miami, were on board a 2018 Yamaha personal watercraft when they crashed into the seawall in Marathon. Both died from their injuries.
The relationship between the two was not clear.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims during this difficult time," FWC said in a statement.
The crash remains under investigation.
