HOBE SOUND, Fla. — A man was arrested after a violent robbery Thursday at a Publix in Martin County, authorities said in a news release.
The incident reportedly occurred when a woman was "violently attacked" by the suspect while leaving the store, located on Cove Road in Hobe Sound, the Martin County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post.
The suspect reportedly grabbed her belongings before stealing her car, deputies said.
The sheriff's office found the suspect along Bridge Road and performed an intervention technique to disable the car.
The suspect's identity is unknown, but deputies say he is not from the area and is currently in custody.
The sheriff's office says this is a developing situation and that more updates will be provided as information becomes available.
