FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said it found a "significant" amount of blood inside a public restroom at a local park.
Deputies were reportedly conducting a security check on Nov. 11 at Hidden Trails Park off of Mahogany Boulevard when they found the blood. The agency confirmed it was human blood after further investigation.
Law enforcement officials and K-9s searched the area at the time but were left with no immediate leads or evidence, the agency wrote.
However, an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with more information is asked to contact FCSO or Crime Stoppers.
“We are actively investigating this situation, and any information from the public could be critical to helping us determine what occurred,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a statement. "Whatever happened could be just an accident or it could be something more serious. If you know anything or saw something suspicious at Hidden Trails Park in the Mondex on November 11th, please contact us immediately. You might just have the information we need to determine the source of the blood.”
