Gov. DeSantis shows support after 3 Florida deputies were killed in Palm Beach County

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has opened a donation drive to help support the fallen deputies' families.

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis shared his support for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office after three of its deputies were killed following a crash on Thursday.

Two deputies, Luis Paez and Ralph "Butch" Waller, were killed in the crash while deputy Ignacio "Dan" Diaz passed just before 1 p.m. Monday.

The governor said he and his wife, Casey, were saddened by the incident and Diaz's passing.

"Our prayers are with his loved ones and the entire PBSO," DeSantis said in the post.

The crash happened in Loxahatchee when the three deputies were standing on the side of the road with their department-issued motorcycles before an SUV hit them.

Paez worked for the agency for over 36 years while Waller worked there for 18 years. Diaz joined the sheriff's office in 2004 and worked in the motor unit for more than a decade.

Now, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has opened a donation drive to help support the fallen deputies' families.

"We lost three of our brothers. Please continue to pray for our fallen deputies' families," the agency stated. "Many of our brothers, sisters and members of the community have asked how they can donate to cause."
