VERO BEACH, Fla. — A missing 2-year-old boy from Vero Beach has been found dead, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed.
A Florida Missing Child Alert was issued for Shamar Windhom shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, authorities sent an update saying the little boy was found dead.
"Our prayers go out to Shamar's family, loved ones and community," the FDLE said in a statement.
No further details were provided.
