MELBOURNE, Fla. — A former Florida Green Beret and a Tampa woman were arrested for illegally exporting AR-type firearms, night vision devices, laser sights and other equipment to Colombia, according to the Department of Justice.
Jordan Goudreau, 48, and Yacsy Alvarez, 43, were arrested on Tuesday and charged with conspiracy to violate export laws, smuggling goods from the United States, violating the Arms Export Control Act and violating the Export Control Reform Act.
Goudreau was also charged with violating the National Firearms Act and unlawful possession of machine guns.
Court documents show that starting in November 2019, Goudreau and Alvarez conspired to illegally export the firearms and military equipment from the U.S. to Colombia to be used "to carry out activities in Venezuela."

According to the DOJ, the pair procured the equipment through Goudreau's Melbourne-based company Silvercorp, which offers "security risk management" and "crisis leadership."
The exported equipment was seized by Colombia National Police.
Goudreau is also accused of unlawfully owning machine guns and unregistered silencers.
If convicted Goudreau and Alvarez could face several years in prison:
- 5 years for conspiracy
- 10 years for smuggling
- 20 years for export law violations
- 10 years for each violation of the National Firearms Act
The FBI, Homeland Security and the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security are leading this investigation with assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
