COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A 13-year-old was arrested on several charges after recklessly driving a Dodge Challenger and speeding off from a traffic stop, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At 3:40 a.m. a state trooper spotted a car "failing to maintain a single lane" on a major road in Naples, a news release said. The car was pulled over on Immokalee Road near Wilson Boulevard.
When the trooper approached the stopped car, officials said the teen driver drove off and turned off the vehicle lights.
The trooper got back in their patrol car and followed the Challenger for about another 4 miles before the driver finally stopped. The 13-year-old was then arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding, as well as driving without a license.
