TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was left with a broken ankle after he was hit during the final play of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
In a news release, the agency thanked one of the Falcons players for rushing to help the trooper after the play.
The Buccaneers lost the game 31-26. Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns to help his team take sole possession of first place in the NFC South.
