FLORIDA, USA — Florida State Troopers took home their second American Association of State Trooper's "Best Looking Cruiser" award for their "Out of this World" theme.
With more than 28,000 votes, Florida's black and tan cruiser took first place above Kentucky, which celebrated the state's horse industry.
Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles reported that they had over 1.2 million views on their Facebook site during the two weeks of voting. The agency also said it had 100% participation from the Florida state police agencies during the 2024 contest.
"No matter the year, we’ve had the best-looking cruisers for 85 years! Nothing but the best—the Black and Tan," FLHSMV said in an Instagram post.

FHP chose the "Out of this World" theme to highlight Florida's Space Coast. The submitted picture was taken at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station's Space Launch Complex on April 18, 2024, during the final liftoff of the United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy. The photo features the FHP 2019 Dodge Challenger.
“This year's photo entry embodies Florida's spirit of innovation and commitment to excellence, capturing iconic elements of our state," said president and CEO of Space Florida Rob Long in a statement. "Space Florida is proud to support our state troopers in this competition and we hope to see Florida take home another victory."
Florida's win means its cruiser will be on the cover of the AAST 2025 calendars, which are available for preorder beginning August 1 and will go on sale in October. Proceeds benefit AAST's foundation.
