ORLANDO, Fla. — Passengers were evacuated on Tuesday morning after the Disney World monorail they were riding reportedly got a flat tire.

As the monorail was stuck on the track, crews from Orange County Fire Rescue and Reedy Creek Fire worked to bring passengers to safety, a spokesperson with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District told WKMG-TV.

Park officials reportedly said the monorail got a flat tire close to the Epcot parking lot toll plaza.

According to WOFL-TV, 71 passengers were on board, and it took around an hour and 20 minutes for all of them to get off the monorail safely.

Luckily, there were no reported injuries during the incident.

Disney World has not yet said what caused the flat tire on the monorail, but a man from St. Petersburg told WOFL-TV he smelled burning rubber and smoke before he was taken off.

"There was a loud bang explosion, and then we kind of saw a big flash of light. After that, the monorail slowed down," Kris Lenk said. "They told us to pretty much bust open the windows, unfortunately, because the AC wasn't working, so not sure if the whole monorail just decided to shut off after that loud bang and everything. But, you know, it was kind of nice to finally get out of there."

The monorail at the theme park is used for guests to travel all around the area, including stops at the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and the transportation and ticket center.
