ORLANDO, Fla. — New changes are in effect as Walt Disney World updated its Disability Access Service on Monday.
According to the park's website, the services accommodate guests who have developmental disabilities, like autism, who can't wait in a conventional queue for a longer time.
DAS also allows those guests to request a return time for a specific experience that is comparable to the current standby wait time. They must also be present when registering and attend their designated attraction when redeeming a DAS return time at any of Disney World's four parks.
Disney says in order to register, you must book a virtual appointment 30 days before your park visit. In that appointment, you will meet with a cast member in a live video chat to discuss what services will best suit your visit.
An in-person option is not offered for registration, but if you do not register in advance, you can participate in a live video conference on the day of your visit.
DAS is valid for the length of your Disney stay or up to 120 days, the company says.
If a guest lies while registering for DAS, Disney says they will be permanently banned from entering Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort.
Additionally, any previously purchased annual passes, magic key passes, tickets and other products and services will be forfeited and not refunded to the guest.
For those looking to register in the DAS program, you can do so on the My Disney Experience Mobile app.
