FLORIDA, USA — Gov. Ron DeSantis announced this week that all state employees will have a four-day weekend for the Fourth of July.
State and government offices will be closed on Friday, July 5, 2024, to celebrate Independence Day. Regular office closures will still apply for July 4, 2024, making the weekend a four-day weekend.
“I am proud to reward our state employees,” DeSantis said in a statement. “Following another historic legislative session that delivered tax breaks and record investments for Floridians—all while reducing spending—I hope our state employees use this additional time off to enjoy Florida’s Freedom Summer with their loved ones and celebrate America.”
