TAMPA, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis says over 1.8 million Floridians have power restored following Hurricane Helene.
In a post on X, the governor says around 532,000 state residents are still without power, while 1.86 million have theirs back.
The news comes as Duke Energy restored power for more than 407,000 customers in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the electric company said in a release on Friday.
As of 9:30 p.m. Friday, PowerOutage.US reports around 253,000 outages across Tampa Bay-area counties.
