MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — Two fearless "gator warriors" helped capture a 9-foot alligator which was reportedly stalking dog walkers in a Florida community.

On Wednesday, the Martin County Sheriff's Office said it received calls about the large reptile in Sailfish Point. Neighbors had spotted the gator days before, crossing from the riverside to the beachside.

It eventually concealed itself in patch of sea grapes in the lanai of a condominium, which deputies said was in a popular dog walking area.

After arriving, Sergeant Crystal Nash and Deputy Dawn Ferris deemed the gator to be "too close for comfort." They were able to contain the gator as they waited for a professional trapper.

"Let this be a reminder that gators do live on the riverside and occasionally travel to the beachside," the sheriff's office posted on Facebook. "If you are walking your pet anywhere near an area like this, please keep your eyes peeled for patches of brush or sea grapes, which can serve as concealment for these reptiles. They are fast and can lunge with great force if they target something they want."

The alligator was successfully relocated.
